on confronting a fear

sitting on a collumn

long, tall, pedistal

half submerged in a merky fluid

shooting me above it all

as some island plateau

keeping me distant and astranged

from objects blurred

by my poor site

to know they are not near

dip my toe in the pond

resulting in chills to my spine

and a shiver through my ears

inspiring a steady rise upward

and a leap into mid air

diving into what once a muck

turned suddenly clear

in search of sun

its this time of year that i should listen to more music. its the lack of vitamin d or something that when replaced with music, the depression doesnt seem so bad. during the summer i forget i have a clock radio. I turn it on and its tuned to 98.5 fm in Olympia. it's really the only radio i listen to any more. considering rice radio in houston texas is at risk of corporate demise. i support the community and public and pirate radio waves as a fight for humanity.
